North Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire have a lot of work on. Major construction, energy and infrastructure work across the area means a steady flow of contractors, engineers and site teams who need somewhere to stay. If you are looking for crew accommodation or workforce housing for a team coming in for a few weeks or a few months, this guide covers where to base them, how the roads link up, and what our contractor accommodation includes.

We are a local team based in Worksop, and we look after 8 homes, sleeping 37 between them, in Worksop, Retford and South Anston. Bigger than 37? We'll still sort it.

Worksop: a central base near the A1 and M1

Worksop sits in the Bassetlaw district of North Nottinghamshire, with the A57 running east to the A1 and west towards the M1. That makes it a practical base for crews covering jobs across Bassetlaw, North Derbyshire and the Sheffield side of South Yorkshire. Worksop railway station is on the line to Sheffield, Retford and Lincoln.

Our Worksop homes sleep 20 between them. Abbey Park sleeps 16 across 4 townhouses, with automated gates, no height limit for vans, one space per house plus visitor spaces. Every Abbey Park townhouse has a washer dryer, blackout blinds for shift workers and a mini desk. Norfolk Street sleeps 4, with on-street permit parking that vans have used, and a large dining table that doubles as desk space. For crews working near Ollerton, the Worksop homes are a short drive away.

Retford and the West Burton area

Retford is close to the A1 and sits on the East Coast Main Line, with direct trains to London King's Cross, which helps when people travel home at the weekend. Our two flats on Albert Road are in one building, within walking distance of the town centre and the station. Between them they give a crew of up to 6 their own beds, with a driveway for two vehicles and a kitchen in each flat.

The flats are about a 15-minute drive from West Burton, an estimate, so check your own route. That makes Retford a good base for teams working along the Trent valley. See contractor accommodation near West Burton and short stays in Retford.

South Anston: near M1 J31, a short drive from Rotherham

Our house in South Anston is about 3 miles from M1 Junction 31, a short drive from Rotherham and well placed for Sheffield. It suits crews who need the M1 every day. It sleeps 10, with own beds for up to 7 as set up, including the sofa bed, and the king can be split into twins. Two vehicles fit comfortably on the private lane, there is a boot room for muddy kit, a desk in the loft room and a walled garden.

Getting around: the A1, A57, A614, M1 and rail

The A1 runs north to south past Retford and Worksop, so crews can reach Doncaster, Newark and beyond without crossing town. The A57 links Worksop to the A1 and to the M1 at junctions 30 and 31, about 15 minutes away, for Sheffield, Rotherham and Chesterfield. The A614 runs south past Ollerton towards Nottingham. For people travelling in by train, Retford is on the East Coast Main Line and Worksop has its own station.

What crews get in our homes

Good accommodation for workers starts with space. Every booking is a whole home, not a room in a shared house, so a team can stay, park and eat together. Each home has a fully equipped kitchen, so the crew can cook a proper meal after the shift instead of eating out every night on expenses. Every home has laundry facilities for workwear, fast Wi-Fi and a Smart TV with Netflix. Bills are included.

One clean and a linen change are included in every stay. On long-stay bookings of 14 nights or more there is a free mid-stay clean and linen change, and monthly rates apply on 28 nights or more. Long-stay and short-stay crews are both welcome. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am. Early check-in or late check-out is free when you book direct, subject to availability. Ask in advance and our team will confirm.

You get one booking, one invoice and one contact. We send monthly invoices with your PO number, and you can pay by BACS or card, or ask for a proforma invoice. The homes are fully insured, with regular fire safety checks and PAT-tested equipment.
